End Of Year Feeling
Molly Nichols
It can’t be just me right? I am totally exhausted and way too drained to be thinking straight and trying to focus on finals or anything else for that matter. For everyone feeling that way...I got you. If you could see the dark circles underneath my eyes, you’d be shocked, you could store groceries in these bags.
I want to write and say that even though I’m busy it is still so important to prioritize myself. I hope all of you are prioritizing yourselves even right now. I can’t stress this enough that taking time to talk out your feelings...yammering on like I do, is how you are showing your appreciation for yourself. Maybe a face mask and a fresh Starbucks venti matcha latte with almond milk (someone after my own heart I’d say) is how you cope... That’s okay, in the grand scheme of things assignments are number 1. Not the most important thing, and number 2. Allowed to be a second thought in certain situations.
Although I’m not emphasizing procrastination, I am saying that sometimes coming back to the work with a fresh brain... MINUS the throbbing headache can help you do even better...think of it like allowing yourself to gain a new perspective.
Another point I wanted to make in this short and sweet blog post is that it’s important to realize what you're after. For some things in life going after them only makes it harder for you to take a moment to yourself. If your dream is to attend Harvard University, thinking of taking a moment to yourself seems selfish and kind of like personal sabotage. It’s still important, even if that involves participation in a five minute break. Or take the advice of the girl writing this post and put on a face mask, hell put on a face mask and a foot mask, whatever you have to do to make yourself realize that YOU are still important.
Help yourself in the easy ways and it’ll pay off in the big ways.
Don’t sweat the stuff that doesn’t determine the big things and find a way to know the difference.
Take your own advice and treat yourself as you would advise others to treat themself.
I love you
