There’s something to be said for getting out of bed in the morning
All I can say is if you are having trouble dealing with our current reality, that’s okay. You might be feeling extremely upset and unmotivated. Not getting up everyday means choosing to give in, which means disrespecting yourself. Getting out of your bed every morning is a success. Every time you do something productive, even the smallest things (folding laundry, making the bed, even showering), it means you’re choosing to fight this tragic situation.
I’m not here to say that distracting yourself is how you can deal with this problem. Quite the opposite actually, don’t distract yourself with tasks around the house. Be aware of what is going on, but make yourself happy. You are the only person in your life that can make you happy. If you enjoy doing the projects around the house, then by all means, just make sure you are doing what YOU enjoy.
Someone is probably reading this who doesn’t know how to make themselves happier... or doesn’t think they have the ability to make themselves happier, especially right now.
Which I guess is a pretty common thought nowadays...
The truth is, everyone can make themselves happier, everyone has the ability to love themselves. Some people struggle with that process, and the mental battle is nothing to be ashamed of. The only thing you have to be ashamed of is if you decide to stay in that headspace. Take baby steps, make a list of what you love about yourself. Whatever you are thinking in the moment, but don’t focus on your flaws.
I know that everyone has struggled with this toxic feeling of defeat at one point or another, and I’m here to tell you the struggle can end, and should end.
I realize this post has been gone off on many tangents, but I hope you found something helpful within my advice.
“ Forgive yourself for accepting less than you deserve and tolerating mistreatment when you weren’t in your power. Don’t let that one hard chapter of your life become your identity and who you are today. It all happened for a reason.” -Mindset of Greatness
